No.: JK-573/17-19 Jammu-Tuesday, 30 June, 2020 JK reports 144 new positive cases, 4585 recovered so far JAMMU, JUNE 29: The Government on Monday informed that 144 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 45 from Jammu division and 99 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 7237. Also, 01 COVID-19 death has been reported from Kashmir division. Moreover, 269 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 55 from Jammu Division and 214 from Kashmir Division. According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 7237 positive cases, 2557 are Active Positive, 4585 have recovered and 95 have died; 11 in Jammu division and 84 in Kashmir division. The Bulletin further said that out of 358530 test results available, 351293 samples have been tested as negative till June 29, 2020. Additionally, till date 278689 travelers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for surveillance which included 40312 persons in home quarantine Judicial fraternity condoles demise of B.S. Salathia, Pays rich tribute JAMMU, JUNE 29: To condole the sad demise of B.S Salathia, Senior Advocate and former President, J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, a full Court reference was held today in Chief Justice’s Court at Jammu wing of the High Court. B. S Salathia left for his heavenly abode at the age of 69 on June 27th, 2020 at PGI Chandigarh after a brief illness. On account of guidelines with regard to measures for containment of COVID-19 pandemic in the country issued by the Government of India and the Government of Union territories of Jammu & Kashmir and in order to avoid gathering as well as to maintain social distancing, the reference was held through Virtual mode. GMC Jammu increases COVID-19 testing by nearly 39.33 percent in a day JAMMU, JUNE 29: Stepping up COVID-19 testing, the Microbiology Department of Government Medical College, Jammu achieved yet another milestone by carrying out more than 2143 tests in a day, through introduction of partial automation yesterday, 843 samples more than the daily average of 1300 samples per day during the past two months, thus accounting for an increase of about 39.33 percent.
